The world’s premier viol consort, Fretwork returns to San Diego to perform “Alio Modo,” a program of J.S. Bach’s keyboard music transcribed for viols. Bach himself was a practitioner of the art of transcription, recognizing his contemporaries through keyboard versions of their concerti; Fretwork returns the compliment. Their program, which they have recorded, will include the Passacaglia in c-minor as well as selections from the Well-Tempered Clavier and the Clavier Übung III.
