False Consonances of Melancholy: Music by Matteis and Purcell 

In a season full of audience favorites, this is the debut we’ve long anticipated. Violinist extraordinaire Amandine Beyer and her ensemble Gli Incogniti—hailed across Europe and Asia—have been rarer guests in the United States. Their program explores the “bewitching and endlessly inventive” (Gramophone) music of Nicola Matteis, as well as works by Henry Purcell. The performance promises to be “rich in spontaneity and a sense of exploration, […] wonderfully addictive” (Gramophone).
